Pilling & Snagging Test
This test method covers the resistance to the formation of pills and other related surface changes on textile fabrics. Fabrics pilling is the formation of small fuzzy palls on the surface of a fabric. Abrasion from normal wear and cleaning cuases the fibers to unravel and the loose ends ball up on the fabric surface. Wehn short staple fibers are used in the formation of yarns, the degree of twist is another important factor. Tightly twisted yarns composed of short stable fibers are considered more secure then loosely twisted yarns composed of short staple fibers.
